Embellish – Snowflakes
•December 19, 2009 • 6 CommentsThe next Embellish Magazine Challenge is up, and these colours just happen to be my absolute favourites at the moment. I’m totally into yellow and luuurve aqua blue.
So even though it’s a unique theme for a Christmas card, here’s what I came up with…
I’m hoping to get some time to sit down and attempt one of the ASJ’s December jacks tonight. So, might see you back here tomorrow

MME Blog Challenge #6
•December 10, 2009 • 10 CommentsThe new MME challenge is up and it’s a great one!
I’ve been wanting to try these flowers for ages, and finally this gave me the little nudge I needed.
Complete credit for these flowers goes to the EXTREMELY talented Natasja Verbeek…. what an amazing artist!!
A very hard process to describe, but so easy to do!
Step 1 – Cut a circle from double sided patterned paper – this can be any size you like. Obviously the bigger the circle, the bigger the flower.
Step 2 – Now from the outside make a small cut towards the centre. This cut need only be approx 1cm long.
Step 3 – From the end of this cut, you now need to cut a spiral into the centre of the circle.
Step 4 – Cut the edge off of the circle to make this into a complete spiral.
Step 5 – With your fingers, roll from the outside of the spiral all the way to the middle. Use a glue dot, or double-sided tape to stick the last piece of the spiral to the bottom of the flower. There you have it!
Step 6 – I have painted glue on the tips of the flower and then dipped them in glitter to give them a frosted look.
On this layout I have used all My Mind’s Eye Paper, 29th Street Market and Breaking Free Adventure Series. Also American Craft Thickers, Versa Ink, Doodlebug Glitter and Bazzill Kraft as the base underneath.
That’s all for now, enjoy your day everyone!!

Caardvarks Hero Arts Digi Challenge
•December 5, 2009 • Leave a CommentMy favourite time of the month….. well just one of the many
……Caardvarks challenge is up!!
You’re in for a jam packed few weeks of total inspiration and lots of card eye candy!! Every day Caardvarks will be showcasing a member of the Caardvarks crew as well as the Hero Arts Digital Kits.
To start with Kathy has some great Christmas Stockings for you to devour.
I’ve actually never tried digi before….. you could say I was a teeny bit scared. But when the offer was thrown my way, I thought it was a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and have a go.
Well, I don’t know what I was so worried about…… seriously, it was SO much fun and once I got started I just couldn’t stop. I’ll definately be incorporating digi into my every day card making from now on. Once I replace the ink in my printer of course… I went a little bit silly
Here’s a sneaky at one of my digi cards…. you’ll have to wait til it’s my turn to see the rest!
I’ve used HA Polky Dots and HA Great Card Messages on this card.
Make sure you have a go at this challenge….. if you haven’t done digi before, it will open your eyes WIDE open!!
And a BIG THANKS to Lucy and her sweet hubby for choosing my card as one of the winners of her first ever challenge. I’m honoured, and really enjoyed that little thrill that ran through my body when I saw my name. Hehe… it’s Saturday night and I think I’ve had a bit too much sun today!!!
